We founded Ava Medical in 2025 after more than ten years in NHS medical recruitment. Over that career I've overseen the placement of thousands of doctors into NHS Trusts and health boards across the UK — spanning more than 50 specialties — built on a compliance-first approach that protects start dates and patient safety alike.
What I kept seeing was a market full of generalist agencies treating doctors like a commodity and trusts like a revenue target. I wanted to do something different: a doctor-only agency with deep specialty knowledge, a genuine IMG support pathway, and enough honesty to tell a candidate when a role isn't right for them.
